Blog Discussion: ‘AI Agents and Work’
In this piece for the APA Blog, I argue that AI's most underappreciated threat to the workplace is not job loss but the erosion of solidarity — both the productive solidarity that arises from genuine collaboration and the labour solidarity through which workers collectively resist domination. When AI agents replace human colleagues, they don't just reorganise work; they dismantle the social relationships that make work a site of meaning, mutual recognition, and collective agency.
